| Mail Me Yummy Songs |
| Peeps, Unlike a few, err, shall we say 'interesting' Companies that recruit near-broke artists to pay an annual fee first or pay them money upfront to submit even a single song for Film/TV, submissions and inclusion on my Compilation is totally and utterly free. Yup, free. I repeat, FREE. Just make sure to follow these 5 instructions EXTREMELY CAREFULLY. Sweet :) 1. Do not include any press materials/bios. 2. I do, however love Schwag (chuckle). This encompasses any totally random items that make me laugh out loud. Let your imagination go to town, and remember, silly is king. 3. Stick a white sticker/label ON THE CD ITSELF (NOT the case) 4. On that sticker in TINY writing, also write exactly who you sound like (use known bands as references e.g. Radiohead). I have to have this in order to listen to your CD. 5. On that same sticker, write your phone number and email. Mail to: Luke Hits 137 N. Larchmont Blvd #555 Los Angeles, CA 90004 MP3s Please DO NOT email me mp3s. They are too large for my email server. Thanks. Also crucial: I would love to consider your song for the next Luke Hits Compilation, just please bear a few more things in mind. Firstly, scapping all agendas, I base my selection process purely on one thing alone: the Song. How is that for a concept (chuckle). Every submission gets equal treatment. Period. Also important: if your song is not of master quality--crisp enough for a TV show or movie, use your best judgement---please do not spend the dollar-fifty to mail it to me. No matter how great the song, the PRODUCTION QUALITY HAS TO BE GREAT. Could it be on a college radio station? If yes, then the quality is most likely acceptable. Just trying save you the cash :) Lastly, put yourself in my shoes for a second. Realize how isanely busy I must be, updating and promoting my site, listening to demos, dealing with the studios, doing paperwork, taking calls, etc. Basically I am slammed. Incessantly. Now hold that thought, and pleeeeeeeeease understand that I CANNOT REPLY TO YOUR FOLLOW UP EMAILS OR CALLS about your demo at all. I want to be personal with you, and everyone who know me knows that I am. But if I took time to talk to and email every artists, I would never have time to actually help them place their song in a Film. If you mailed it, I got it. If I got it I DEFINITELY gave every single song on your CD a listen. An UNBIASED listen. I doesn't matter what you look like, how popular your band is, where you live, any of that superficial silliness. I care about one thing. The song. Hence, every CD I get receives equal treatment. That simple. Example, I randomly found an artist--no one has ever heard of him and he is even still in college--who recorded a songs in his free time on an insane pro-tools rig on his home computer. No joke, production is shocking. The song is amazing. And yes, he made it onto the first compilation. Trust me, this is what I do. I cannot risk accidentally missing a great song because I didn't take a few minutes to listen to a CD in my mailbox. Especially when a band took the time and a buck-fifty in postage to mail it to me--they obviously have passion and drive--and I respect that. Bottom line, if there is a song on your CD that is strong enought to grab my attention you WILL hear from me, even if it is a year later. If not, I just don't have time (I wish I did) to follow up with every single band, it is just not feasable. Makes sense. Thanks for your patience y-all, and I look forward to hearing your delicious hit songs! Yours -Willie Wonka |
