| About Unsigned Bands and Artists |
| The bottom line is that there are hundreds of thousands of unsigned bands floating around L.A. not to mention the rest of the globe. The key term being 'floating.' It is often difficult—peeps I know in bands are in this situation all the time—to stay one hundred percent motivated. To continually make progress. So, whether your goal is making yourself more attractive to a label (i.e. building your band resume, which establishes enormous credibility), getting some extra income, selling more CDs, or simply wanting more folks to hear your unbelievable songs, I would love to try and help. I will give it my best :) By placing your song in a high-profile Film, TV show, or Commercial you can open up new doors. Gargantuan doors. Bands do it all the time: Moby, Macy Gray, Dido, the list goes on. It is a serious business, and I plan to take my role seriously. Relationships. Personal service. Finding the most emotion-filled, moving, hooky—whatever that 'one thing' is that makes that song great—songs out there. Period. Also, I want to address directors and producers out there reading this. I am sure you know that there is a pool of outstanding talent in young bands just waiting to be discovered. Local music communities, where true innovation occurs. Artists who create, not because of crushing pressure from a big label, or not because they cater thier content to mainstream radio simply out of fear of not to getting dropped from thier label. Conversely, these are artists that create because they love to create. And because it brings a smile to thier faces (the most important reason!). Many such unkowns--holed up in a teensy home studio somewhere--write raw, poetic, prolific songs that would blow your mind. You can help their underdog careers (bear in mind, you were the underdog once too!) while at the same time keeping your Film or TV budget slim. In short, I hope to bring you the most honest, truthful, marketable, heartfelt songs you have ever heard in your lives. Get ready for some kick-butt, raw-talent-reigns songs. Thanks so much for reading. Yours, Luke (aka Willie Wonka) |
